Cherie has a very strict rule about complaining about the weather. You can either complain about being cold in the winter or complain about being hot in the summer. Pick your battle. Complaining about both just makes you a whiner. Cherie chooses to complain about the winter (a fact blatantly obvious to anyone who has read the entries prior to June).
Therefore, this is not a complaint, but merely an observation. It is very hard to motivate to go build a house when the effort of eating breakfast causes near heat exhaustion. Especially when the tasks for the day include moving hundreds of pounds of chopped down trees and mucking around in gallons of stain.
And even more especially when the neighbors across the street just put their kayak on top of their car and headed down to the ocean. That kind of taunting should be illegal.

As always I enjoyed the entry.
But worrying about heat exhaustion in Maine. Serious?
You should try our neck of the woods. Texas can borrow some heat from us and we would still have some to spare!

I have no sympathy. None.

Okay, it’s possible that I exaggerated a teensy little bit about the heat exhaustion. But it was warm here today with a high of 88F (31C). And it was hazy and humid.
The heat thing is all relative, of course. While 88 probably sounds quite reasonable for Arizona or Florida or South Africa, it’s toasty for up here! I’m happy to report that since this morning the wind has shifted and there’s an ocean breeze cooling everything down.

Don’t want to belabor the point.
By way of illustration I can mention that I solar-heat my swimming pool.
I only start swimming when the pool hits 28 round October….
When I do swim it’s to cool down!!!!
Must say that ocean breeze sounds pleasant.
